Ontario Lake Trout Fishing
There are no Lake Trout in Canyon Lake. We do have easy-to-get-to outpost lakes, which have outstanding Lake Trout fishing. Many of these Lake Trout lakes are easily accessible in the winter via snowmobile and produce excellent ice fishing opportunities.
Lake Trout average in the 2 to 4-pound range. Our guests constantly catch them over 5 pounds. As any experienced Lake Trout fishing fanatic will tell you, even in a small lake, Lake Trout can reach great sizes and our outpost trout lakes will have 20 to 30-pounders in them.
People that fish for Lake Trout are usually fanatical. There is something about bringing a big heavy fish up from the depths that creates anticipation and adventure. You never know what you have until it reaches the surface.
We do not keep boats on our Lake Trout lakes. Guests who bring their own boats can easily get to these lakes for some fantastic Lake Trout action.
